Saturday Feb 18th, 2012 Spurs and Tebowing at UCLA

Crazy day of graphing for me this past Saturday. Went out to LA with my friend Benson to graph the Spurs in the morning and Tim Tebow in the afternoon. Initially we headed out to the Four Seasons at Beverly Hills to see if the Spurs were staying there. There were no other signs of graphers or team buses so we headed out to the Ritz Carlton across the Staples Center to see if the Spurs were staying there. A trainer on the Spurs walks right by us so we figure the Spurs have to be at this hotel. Ended up with Coach Gregg Popovich, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker on a basketball. Met a family friend of Manu so we were able to get Manu over to sign for us.

Soon after getting the Spurs we drove out to UCLA to catch Tim Tebow. I heard through ESPN that he was at my old alma mater practicing at the UCLA football practice field so we went out there to check it out. Luckily Tim was still there. After practice he signed a football and mini helmet for me.

Tim is a class act. He signed and posed pictures with us. Great guy. I hope he does improve his mechanics that he is working on right now so he can have a kick ass season next year.

  2. My buddy Steve (http://zimsautographs.blogspot.com/) ended up getting Tebow on Tuesday. Supposedly he is there this week but I am not sure of what time or which days since there is no released set schedule. It's really luck based. If you do decide to go i'd say get there around 11ish or so since that's when we saw him practice and he ended up signing for us in the end which was around 1-2. Also bring tennis balls. The tennis courts are adjacent to the football practice field. My friend Larry ended up getting both Serena and Venus Williams to sign his jumbo tennis ball. I didn't come prepared so I missed out on them. They both usually show up to UCLA just to practice. I hope this helps Clint and thanks again for your compliments to this blog.

    1. I find out of the signings through signingshotline.com, blogs, and word of mouth from friends who like to graph. I haven't posted any upcoming appearances since the events I attend are common knowledge among the autograph community. If I get enough requests to post information I may do it eventually. I am working on this blog for personal use to keep track of the stuff I am getting signed and to recapture the memory I have of each signing. Thanks for the compliments. If you need graphing info let me know. I am willing to help another grapher out.

  5. Hi David, I'm the guy who said hi at the Garvey appearence and saw you afterwards on Sunday at the Clippers bowling event. How many hours before the game did you get the Spurs players? I'm planning on getting some Hornets players since they're staying at the hotel right in front of Staples.

    1. The game was a noon game and we were waiting in front of the Ritz around 9-10am. So i'd say 2-3 hours before tip off. Do you have a list of teams that stay at the Ritz? If so keep me posted.

    2. No, but they just stayed there a couple of days ago for their game against the Clippers . . . . they're playing against the Lakers tomorrow, so I'm going to give it a shot. Do you recommend the entrance that's right in front of Staples or the one that's towards the street?

    3. Near the street entrance. The bus will be parked next to the hotel and the players walk to the bus to get to the Staples Center. You can even catch some players walking to Staples Center as well.
